Skalven includes a simple product presentation system for digital goods, templates, and downloadable items. Each product must use the products tag and the Post Products template.
Products rely on a 4:3 feature image and a Buy Now button generated from Ghost’s feature image fields.
1. Creating the Products Page
- Go to Tags → New Tag.
- Set the Name to Products.
- Set the Slug to
products.
- Click Save.
All posts using the products tag will now appear automatically at: site.com/products
2. Publishing a Product Post
- Add only the products tag to the post
(Do not include projects, podcasts, or readings tags.)
- In Post Settings → Template, select Post Products.
- Upload a 4:3 horizontal feature image.
- In Feature Image Caption, enter your button text
Example: Buy Now – $49
- Click the Alt badge on the feature image and add the product URL.
- Publish the post.
3. Image Requirements
- Required ratio: 4:3 (horizontal)
- Examples: 1600×1200
- Use high-quality promotional or product images
- Avoid square or vertical images
Skalven uses the Ghost Feature Image Caption and Feature Image Alt fields to generate a customizable button beneath the product image.
- Enter the product button name in Feature Image Caption.
- Click the Alt badge and add the product button URL in Feature Image Alt.
- All set! Your button now appears on both the product detail page and the Product Post Cards.
Keep your product titles short and your feature images clean for the best visual balance.
