Updating the theme may overwrite any custom changes you’ve made. If your theme files haven’t been modified, it’s safe to update — but if you’ve added custom code, proceed carefully to avoid losing your edits.

Updating a theme

  1. Download the latest version of Skalven from your purchased files, then extract the archive on your computer.
  2. In your Ghost Admin, click the ⚙️ Settings icon and open the Design & Branding section.
  3. On the bottom-right of the screen, click Change theme.
    Then click the Upload theme button in the top-right corner.
  4. Upload the new version of Skalven — for example:
    skalven-v1.0.0.zip
    (Do not upload the outer package; only upload the theme ZIP inside the downloaded folder.)
  5. After the upload is complete, click Activate to switch to the new version of the theme.
🎉 Your Skalven theme is now successfully updated!
