Skalven uses a tag-based system to organize Podcast content. To ensure every podcast post is displayed correctly across the theme, each post must use the podcasts tag and the Post Podcasts template. The archive page is created manually using a fixed URL structure.

1. Creating the Podcasts Page

  1. Go to Tags → New Tag.
  2. Set the Name to Podcasts.
  3. Set the Slug to podcasts.
  4. Click Save.
All posts using the podcasts tag will now appear automatically at: site.com/podcasts

2. Publishing a Podcast Post

To ensure a post appears correctly in the Podcasts section:
  1. Add only the podcasts tag to the post
(Do not include articles, projects, products, or readings tags.)
  2. Open Post Settings → Template and select Post Podcasts.
  3. Publish your post.
After publishing, the post will automatically appear in:
  • The Podcasts section on the homepage
  • The /podcasts archive page
  • Its own detail page using the Post Podcasts layout
This ensures proper metadata, layout consistency, and accurate automatic placement across the theme.
Skalven displays all podcast cover images using a 1:1 aspect ratio (square) layout.
To prevent unwanted cropping, stretching, or composition issues:
  • Always upload a square (1:1) feature image for podcast posts
  • Recommended size: 1200×1200 px (or higher for retina displays)
  • Avoid extreme text-heavy images; keep the artwork readable at small sizes
This guarantees a clean, consistent look across lists, archive pages, and the podcast detail layout.
Always place your audio embed (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, or Ghost’s built-in audio card) at the very top of the post content.
If you want to add notes or commentary, you can continue writing below the audio player.
